Application instructions for working with plastic sheets
(self-adhesive and non-adhesive).

The surface must be dry, smooth and free of dst, dirt, grease, wax and silicone.
Always clean non-absorbent surfaces with alcohol (ethanol, IPA).
On porous and highly absorbent surfaces such as masonry and particle board, we recommend a sealing application using our dispersion adhesive SIBUKLE D22HV as suitable adhesive for non-adhesive sheets. Self-adhesive sheets are suitable for absorbent surfaces and for non-absorbent surfaces as well.
IMPORTANT: Do not use a solvent-based adhesive as this could partly dissolve the sheet backing!
Surface tension must amount to at least 38 dyn (industrial information).
Concave resp. convex surfaces - mechanical fixing is absolutely required!

Working Surface

Unpack rolled goods approximately 24 hours prior to use. Lay out flat at room temperature and if required, apply additional weight.

Important!

Any such activities must be carried out on the front surface of the material.
In case of sheets coated on both sides, please note the instructions on the patterned side.

Cutting, Drilling, Punching, Sawing

The ideal working temperature is between +15° C - +30° C (60° F - 86° F).
The decorative sheets must be acclimatised, i.e. brought to room temperature before working (avoidance of condensation on the adhesive surface).
A temperature increase of 10° C (50° F) will cause our products to expand by approximately 0.7 mm over a length of 1 m.
In general, a gap of 1.0 mm - 2.0 mm should be left between the sheets for expansion.
In case of high ambient temperatures, or temperatures subject to large fluctuations, the expansion gap should be larger and the slightly smaller sheet size be used.
Take care to avoid trapped air bubbles! The use of a medium-hard rubber roller is recommended.
Gradually remove the adhesive backing cover, and do not touch the adhesive surface. Then press firmly onto the working surface. In order to avoid any lifting along the edges due to material extension or expansion, we suggest the use of our profiles or alternative profiles (of wood, metal, plastic, a.s.o.)
Trim or edge profiles must not prevent possible expansion of the SIBU-sheets!

Application

All plain surfaces are safeguarded against damage by a protective film, which should be removed only when the application process is completed.

Surface Protection

For heavy dirt:
- Use a standard plastic or glass cleaning agent.
- Do not spray the cleaner directly onto the material surface, but sparingly onto a soft cloth.
For light dirt:
- Use a soft cleaning cloth, which is dust- and dirt-free.
Do not use abrasives, cleaning agents containing solvents, or pure alcohol.
