Tip 4

One of the biggest advantages of SIBU products is their quick and easy use. Here, you can find out all you need to know about the professional covering of inner and outer edges with SIBU M 50 moldings.

Ground
SIBU M 50 moldings can be used for inner and outer edges on seven differing types of ground. The most commonly used types were tested by SIBU Design specialists:

Uncoated chipboard
Coated chipboard
High pressure laminate sheet
Tiles
Painted metal
Gypsum board with dispersion paint
Plastered walls

Adhesive
Positive results can be achieved when suitable adhesives are employed. Following testing by the SIBU Design experts, the following brands can be recommended: TESA, strongly adhesive, solvent-free, manufacturer: Beiersdorf Pattex, especially suitable for absorbant materials, solvent-free, manufacturer: Henkel

The bonding process
1. The adhesive is applied to the ground in a straight line using a pistol at a distance of around 1 cm from the edge.
2. An M 50 molding of suitable length is pressed onto the inner and outer edge and secure with adhesive tape for one to two hours. This is especially important with regard to outer edges.
3. Please ensure that the protective film is first removed from the M 50 milding when the entire bonding process has beeen concluded. Tip! It is vital that the protective film is in place during mounting with adhesive tapes. Care must be taken during bonding to ensure that the level of surface tension is at least 38 dyn.
